Mission accomplished!任務完成!
We finished our first project today and got 2 days off!😆❤ Also got a gift today for our next project: study trip to Amsterdam! 今天順利繳交作業以結束這回合!還拿到一份禮物❤東西收一收,準備去阿姆斯特丹囉!
Evaluation of DTCI Project
At the beginning of our first project: Deciphering the Creative Industries (DTCI), Hannah gave us a checklist for our personal values to help us develop our project. When I was ticking the values from the checklist, I noticed that I would like to do something related to “Family”, “Inner harmony” and “Pleasure”. Based on the initial values, the idea of “Record your story” was more and more clear after the brainstorming mind map. Also, after I reviewed the existing journal article: Collaborators in Dreams, I chose to further explore the area of illustrated books. However, I didn’t realize that I…
Record Your Story-Manifesto (video)
Here it is! My manifesto video. Please enjoy it!
Color Photography Workshop
It was my first time to make a photography in this way. It’s interesting! Unfortunately, I was having diarrhea on the day we had the lesson. So I just made five of them. (And it was like I used all my strength of life to do the work! ) Here are the notes I took for the details of the photos:(from top to the bottom) (1) 5,10,15,20 seconds / 65 Yellow / 65 Magenta / 11 Aperture (2) 20 seconds / 65 Yellow / 65 Magenta / 11 Aperture (3) 15 seconds / 65 Yellow / 65 Magenta…
London Study Trip: SOMERSET HOUSE STUDIO
Have you ever thinking of working in a PALACE for your creative work? Then welcome to SOMERSET HOUSE STUDIO! In Taiwan, we have this kind of creator base too. But they are usually in old factories, not in a palace like this! In Somerset House Studio, creators can hire a desk or a whole room to run their business. At the meantime, they are allowed to use the workshops/machines for their works. The studio also holds events, workshops, and activities for “residents” to join and meet more creators who might be collaborators on the future projects. It is a really interesting place…
London Study Trip: PICASSO PORTRAITS
It was really a great pleasure to see Picasso’s portraits at National Portrait Gallery. I would like to see Master’s portraits and how he recorded his life with paintings. I thought it related to my project and my idea of “Record your story” as my manifesto. On the leaflet it wrote: “Picasso’s portraits epitomise the astonishing variety and innovation of his art. This major exhibition of over eighty works focuses on the artist’s portrayal of family, friends and lovers and reveals his creative processes as he moved freely between drawing from life, humorous caricature and expressive painting from memory.” The exhibition started…
Recordable Storybooks
I found something interesting about the storybooks today. There was storybooks that combined with the “Voice save technology”. Parents or grandparents could record their voice in the book, and “read” the story to their beloved children even they’re not beside them. In my opinion, this was a touching and creative way of story telling. Click the link below to see more about the books and watch the video from the families who used them as a gift. Hallmark’s recordable storybooks p.s. I liked the slogan of these recordable storybooks: “Connecting families, creating memories.”

The interview with Crystal Kung(video)
This is the short film that I would like to share on Monday (23 Jan). I liked the rhythm of the video: it displayed the works of the illustrator and combined the talk at the same time. Also, it paused the talk a little while several times that allowed audience rest a little bit to think what the illustrator had said, and then go on. Plus, the interview video was well edited. The audience could watch it smoothly without pressure and caught the idea of the illustrator easily.
COLLABORATORS IN DREAMS: My first task of research
We’re kind of giant children stuck in adult bodies… After searching for the proper article for a while, these pictures and the first sentence of the article captured my eyes. This article was from the journal of “ILLUSTRATION (AUTUMN 2016)”. Published by Cello Press Ltd. The article was an introduction (and manifesto?) of a new book: A Child of Books which was written and illustrated by the illustrator Oliver Jeffers and typographic artist Sam Winston. Oliver and Sam created two characters in this book to show all the books that inspired them as children. With the story, they were trying to encourage…
